I have a verizon e-mail account that forwards to my droid. After I read the e-mail on my phone I delete it and it goes into a trash bin. I can't figure out how to delete the trash in the bin. There seems to be no simple way to do this unless I am missing something.

Any ideas how do to this?

Are you asking how to empty the trash on your phone, on the email server, or both?

Stock email client: delete account and start over

K9: long-press trash folder and choose "empty trash"

When I long press the trash icon it says open or refresh but no delete or empty option.

K9 is an email client available in the market. It is my opinion that no one should use the stock email client. It has issues. K9 has more features, fewer problems, and actually gets updated once in awhile.
