Droid contacts sync w/Gmail?

The contacts I enter on the fly on Droid do not sync with Gmail on line. I have checked every sync setting that I can find in both Contacts and Accounts. In a Google help forums search I find lots of folks with the same issue, but no answers.

Any help here?

Testing it myself at the moment. Google also do various Sync tools but I think it may be cheaper to use in the long run.

All my contacts sync back and forth from Google Contacts to my Droid and vice versa.... In the settings, there is a sync option for this.

Yeah, they should sync, as it asks what account to use when you create a new contact.
