Droid Bionic help

I have a Droid Bionic XT875
I just updated and now my text apps will not work. The pre-loaded stock text app just looks like its loading but it never does and my Handscent app just shows a blank screen and then after about 30 sec. an error comes up that it is not responding. Anyone one have a fix for this?

About once a month my battery will slowly start losing a charge while it is off and the completely stop charging then after a few days it starts charging again can someone please help me?
