Your Droid will be but a memory by the time it's fully implemented. They're rolling it out, but 3G isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Where did you hear this Spring? Anyway, isn't the 4G network just for certain phones or is that a Sprint thing?

Also, 4G LTE phones are likely at least a year away. Only laptops and other similar devices will use LTE in the beginning.

Sprint is coming out with a 4G only data phone, that will use WiMax for VoIP and data.

Your Droid will work as same as it does now. From what I have read Verizon is going to begin rolling it out in 25 major markets. Even so, they can't force you to upgrade and 3G will still work just fine.
