Droid 3 crashing a lot

I've had my Droid 3 for about 2 years, and for the past month or so it has been crashing frequently, very slow, and basically becoming very difficult to use. So after I tried to look at a recent missed call and it kept taking me back to the home screen, i decided to do a factory reset on the phone. I have done this twice now, once through the settings menu, and the second time I had to do it through power button +x. In both cases, I get to the android screen, and during the set up wizard it crashes. Also, the local 3g signal is showing very weak, so I also set up a wifi connection. I'm now wondering if the ROM is hosed and that is causing the problem. Any one have some viable suggestions? If I can't get this working by morning, I'll most likely have to reactivate my really old Original Droid which while having a cracked screen still works.:cus:

I had to factory reset again. now only getting red eye. I did reactivate my old Droid because i have to have a phone active for work.

Since it bugs the crap out of me when people don't say whether or not their issue was resolved, I wanted to post that the issue has been solved.. and this is how I did it.

Multiple factory resets did nothing but cause either the red eye or it would get to the Android wizard, and keep getting stuck. So, I downloaded Ovelayer's 5.7.906 version and flashed the ROM. Worked perfectly, and upon reboot, got the wizard to activate the phone, and everything has worked wonderfully since. I had to download all my apps again, but it beats buying a new phone.
