I live in a rural place, so my internet is my phone (Droid 3), not rooted, I use PDAnet and tether to my laptop, works great! Now I was thinking.......(this could be dangerous!)

Is there a way (without rooting my droid) to have my droid tethered to my laptop and connected as usual to use the internet and then have my blu ray dvd player (has wifi and so does my laptop) somehow find my laptop and use the internet to stream?

The laptop is online but not using a LAN, so how can I make the laptop visible to the blu ray either wirelessly or via network cable? The laptop has to look like it is on a network somehow.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Can your bluray player read PS3 Media Server? That's how I stream to ps3 and tv downstairs from my PC.

However, since you have a d3 you only get 3g speed. Unfortunately, this is too low of a speed for a quality stream.
