droid 3 3g failure

For the past 2 weeks or so my 3g signal has been pretty sketchy. Seems to be either when I go off wi-fi, or when the display times out. When I unlock the screen or when I turn off wi-fi my 3g will not return until I reboot the phone, then no problems. I am on stock rooted d3 with 2.3.4. Is this a known issues that I've been dodging or am I the only one?

I have been having the same problem. More so this last week.
Rooted w/stock rom
Anyone have ideas on the problem?
