Droid 2 signal strenghth fix?

I bought a droid 2 a955 to replace my droid a855 and the signal on the droid 2 is much worse. Places that I usually get good signal on my droid, I get poor to none with my droid 2. Are there any fixes to this? I bought the phone off of ebay and use it with page plus cellular. The seller on ebay said the poor signal could be due to the page plus network. I find that hard to believe since page plus uses the verizon wireless network. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
