Hello all,

Within the last day or so, my Droid 2 has been experiencing a black screen problem. The phone starts up normally, I can hear the opening vibrations, etc., but no display. When the phone initially turns on, the backlight comes on, but no Motorola logo, Droid eye, etc. When the phone is "on" I can still unlock the phone by knowing where the lock is from memory. Also, the green notification light at top right is blinking, so I'm assuming the phone itself still works. The top right of the screen is cracked, but that happened atleast a month ago, and I haven't had any problems with it until now. Also a side note (when the phone had display), whenever I rotate to keyboard mode, the screen goes blank, and when I rotate back to normal mode, it freezes for a moment then resumes normal functionality. I am not rooted, totally stock. I would really love to keep this phone because of sentimental texts stored on it. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need to replace the flex cable. You can find replacements on the 'net.
