Droid 2 Not opening dial pad, help?

I'm having problems accessing the dial pad on my Droid 2;
When i press the dial pad in the bottom left corner of the home screen, nothing opens. And when i go to Recent Calls and press the Dialer tab, it just sends me back to the home screen. Any suggestions?

First, if you're running any virus protection or task killers get rid of them. Try restarting your D2. If you still have an issue then a factory data reset may be needed.

Seconding what Hook said. Also, are you stock or rooted? How long have you had the phone? Are there any other issues?
