Droid 2 Global 2.3.4 Rooted

I'm new here....I was wondering if the Droid 2 Global can be rooted with android 2.3.4??....And also do you need to be rooted to be able to install custom roms?

Downgrade GB?

Since GB 2.3.4 seems currently unrootable, can anyone point me to a thread on how to downgrade back down to 2.3.3?

your only option is repacked 608, you can't go back

no forever, voodoo ota rootkeeper, works though
if you want to update, to 629, really not worth it

Thx for that. I got it carrier unlocked and I don't know if I will even have it on verizon again. I'm guessing that it wont try to update if I'm on At&t will it?

if you have band unlocked, avoid update
Rename /system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.apk to BlurUpdater_VZW.apk.bak. Rename /system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.odex to BlurUpdater_VZW.odex.bak.

Can someone help me please? My question is if theres a methid to make a .sbf backup of my whole phone? I'm newbbie and i trust on the sbf 's because i got the 4.5.629 update and it broke my root so i know there's a method but i have to flash a sbf and another repacked sbf to unbrick my phone but i want to make a backup beacuase i dont have root to backup with titanium backup
