Droid 2 3g not working

Hello i am forced. To use my droid 2 on wifi becuase the 3g shows up but when i go to go somewhere it doesnt work my mom called verizon and they said they were fixing something and it would take 3 days but is this really true its just making me mad i cant use my phone for 3g like it was made for

Little old, but may I ask what you did to get it working, mine just randomly shut off and won't let me use it at all anymore.
