Droid 1 camera not working

So my brothers camera on his DROID 1 just shows a black screen where you would see the image of what your going to to, any ideas???

Although I do have some additional info that may help. I was searching the forums for a solution myself. The same thing has been happening to my Droid ever since the 2.2 update. My phone is completely stock, no mods whatsoever.

Try doing a hard reset on the phone (pull the battery). Reinstall battery, turn back on and see if the camera works. Mine will for a day or two, then I have to go through the process again. It's a PITA, but it let's me use the camera if I need to. Hopefully someone on here will have a solution for a true fix.

I was wondering if I reinstalled the 2.2 update if that might fix the problem as that appears to be what caused it for me. I just dont' know how to go about reapplying an update that I already have.
