Does someone know where to get decent notification tones? Am a sound designer and pretty tired of the people poop out into these ringtone apps. They all pretty much blow.
Secondly am looking into developing my first app which will be a ringtone app with high quality (well designed not physical file format) sounds and stingers. Am I wasting my time or does anybody else think droid needs better sounds?

I would like some better tones. BTW, is there a way to use the "DROID" tone as a notification? I've got it as my ringtone but would prefer it at a notification. Only ones I can use in that area are the default ones which, as karltone pointed out, suck.

I have only got a couple of ringtones/notification tones from the ringtone apps. A really annoying highpitch sound that aggrevates everyone around me lol. Either way, ringdroid is a app that allows you to cut and trim full songs down to ringtones or notifications.
I download my music from youtube using freetube and if there is something that strikes my fancy, or would make a good notification, I trim it up to work.
I did this and got the Jetson's doorbell theme
I trimmed up FSU Warchant down so I wouldn't have to hear the drum beat intro, I get just "the good part"
pretty much, anything I find on youtube can be turned into a ringtone/notification sound for me.
I select it by simply sorting through my music folder.
