Over the weekend we got lots of leaked images and videos of the Galaxy S8. We know exactly what the device will look like weeks ahead of the official announcement. Earlier today Android Authority made one observation regarding the image which shows the top of the device. There appears to be a square in the middle which they are pointing out could be an IR blaster. This could also just be a sticker or residue from a sticker. It really isn't clear what the square on top is. If this were an IR blaster we would be able to use the S8 as a universal remote to control TV's, bluray players, and even Air Conditioner units. What do you think the square is in the center of the top? Is that an IR blaster?
Turning a smartphone into a remote control is intuitive. Why all vendors don't include this tiny feature is beyond me. It's like disabling the FM/AM radio. Mind boggling.
