I've read all over the internet about the phone not showing good signal strength via the bars, but it reflects good strength in "about phone" section. Is there any fix out there for the bar issue? I can't seem to find anything solid. Any help would be great.

I haven't seen any fix. I've been using Signal Strength Widget, which is much more reliable, and it's also better than going to "about phone".
