Different SMS Sound vs. Email Sound

I recently switched to a Droid and love everything about it, except ONE major gripe. Here's the problem, and I'm hoping you Droid experts out there have a solution:

For SMS, I want the phone to make a SOUND (call it sound A)
For emails, I want the phone to make a different SOUND (sound B) or none at all.

Currently, the phone groups the audio settings for both SMS and emails to be the same which is crazy because I get over 200 emails a day and the last thing I want the phone to do is ring/sound each time (can't sleep with that sound going off all the time). However, I put a greater value on Text/SMS messages from actual people, so I want to know when someone is texting me.

So you see, I can't leave it on no sound, and I can't leave it on loud sound for both. Any work-arounds???? Please help guys / gals.

go into the email settings and its below notifications

gmail and email can be different too

I'm sorry, but I just got my phone today. Where are the email settings? Under the Settings?

nope go into the email (gmail or email app) and click the menu button (the softkey with 4 bars)

then you can find it under notification settings

I don't see the ringtone (sound) that I want to use even though I put it on the phone.

I use TONE PICKER from the market apps to choose my custom rings/sounds.:icon_ banana:
