I just reactivated my nexus but need to dial *228 for calls to go through. However, the Dialer will not show up.. Any way around this? On my Droid 3 I had the same problem but just used the Keyboard to type in "1" to activate it.

I understand that dialing *228 can actually damage the 4G sim card.

That's what I've read as well.. but when they sent me a new SIMcard, that's what the little pamphlet says to do.

All right. I accidentally fried my sim card (not by dialing *228) and took my phone to a Verizon store. They verified that it was bad and did the swapping and activation themselves.

Well, I didn't do anything but my calls seem to be working fine now.. If another problem arises then I'll probably have to go do that. Thanks for the help. :)
