Deleting widgets from screen

How do you remove a widget after adding it? I also have two Google search widgets on screen.

Long press on the item you want to remove then slide it down to the bottom trash bin on that screen

hold your finger on the widget and you'll feel it vibrate. then a small trash can where your menu arrow was, drag to there and it's gone.

hold down any blank spot on the screen to add a widget/shortcut/folder/etc
