Default search disappeared

So last night I installed the newest MIUI and at first pressing the search key opened the stock google search bar - but now it's back to the new MIUI one.

Is there anyway to get the google one back to deault?

did you remove the google search app from /system/app?

Nope. I didn't do anything other than restore a few apps via miui backup. I then went to sleep and woke up to find the default search was gone.

Hmm, try going into settings > programs tab > manage applications > all tab, then try finding the miui search (might be called sidekick app or something) then see if you can clear defaults for that app.

Found it, but the clear defaults button is disabled.
