Deactivation question

I'm planning on selling my droid and buying an unlocked Droid Incredible on eBay.

My question is: am I going to be charged an additional fee to swap my registered phone from a droid 1 to a droid incredible? Can I just call up verizon, tell them to deactivate my original droid and then replace that with the droid incredible I bought?

I believe if you physically go into the store to do this they will charge you, but I am sure this can easily be done from your handset for free by calling *228...you must have both devices handy and follow a series of instructions but it should be pretty easy
