D4 global roaming = GSM support?

Hi I am looking to get a world phone, currently have a Droid 3.

VZW a while back announced that it would enable D4 for global roaming. Is that the same thing as GSM support? Or there is no GSM support in any
of its 4G phones?

The ICS leaks available here do indeed enable GSM, the officical ICS ROM (supposed to be released Q3) as well.

Is the GSM in the ICS builds unlocked already? I don't have a SIM to check.

I'm running D4 in Canada on Rogers, with a Rogers SIM. It is possible that these phones were either not locked by initially, OR the SIM lock functionality is not enabled on the ICS leak.
