Cyanogenmod: What CM has done for android is amazing.

I wrote this article on Google currents but wanted to post it here as well.

Cyanogenmod continues to push the level of where android can go. Every time I turn around they introduce a new feature that makes me just say "wow". These guys over at CM do some serious developing and they are doing it from the ground up. And what is even more amazing is they are not doing it for money, they have people developing who you never heard of, and yet they continue to do awesome things. With every new CM we see new and amazing things that they build from source which is different then modding on top of what the oem has built. I love the work they are doing for the community and I know that not only are we watching but google and other oem's as well. So to Cyanogen and his crew a salute to what you continue to build for android and hands down the greatest group of developers that the android community can ever have on their side.

If you have not had the chance to see what they have done you can find them here: CyanogenMod | Android Community Rom based on Gingerbread

Actually running a ROM on my phone that isn't CM as they haven't come out with one for the Nexus. Definitely going to check it out once they release CM9 though

probably switch to it, too. It honestly takes android to another level.

not offical. or even beta. i don't wanna flash something then have it ditched when it's put out officially.

+1

I'm waiting for an official release as well and I don't mind the wait. CM always puts out quality ROMs and if I waited that long for the Nexus I can certainly wait for a ROM. Till then I can flash other ROMs to mess around with

I'm still amazed that CM and MIUI can make the phone run so much more smoothly and remain so much more stable than the stock system. These guys do it for free and find tweaks that the paid developers don't bother with. Suh-weetness.
