Customization of a keyboard

I have a htc keyboard that I downloaded for my og Droid, and I was wondering how I can edit the apk and change the color of the keyboard / keys? Thanks

if it's the htc ime mod keyboard, then there's actually a website you can go to to cook your own keyboard. it's really easy.
