Crashing while doing text messages?

I haven't got the phone yet, but I went and played with it at the verizon store, and when I went to do text messages, it kept crashing constantly...any explanation?

I saw it had weatherbug, which I read somewhere it glitched the phone, could this be it?

i have had no problem with that. the display models do go through a lot of crap.
