Contacts Name Switching Problem

I can't for the life of me figure this one out...

When I got my phone 3 months back, Verizon moved my contacts from my old phone to my new Droid. All the names were backward, with the last name in the first name box and vise versa. I manually went through and changed every one of them so it looked right.

At some point in the last few days, it reverted back to the way it was. Is there some option that I'm accidentally triggering?

So I finally got all the names back to normal. Had to fix the first and last name locations by hand. Can't find an option for it anywhere. I did a backup with ASTRO and saved my phone list to my SD card. I did a factory reset to work out some other issue. I went to reload my contact list from the SD card. What do you know? It put all the names backward again. All the first names are in the last name box and the last names are in the first name box.

Anyone else having this kinda problem. It's really starting to piss me off. I have 400 contacts that I need to reset by hand. Am I missing something here?
