In comparing the Droid X to the Bionic, it's clear they moved the USB and HDMI connectors a couple of inches up the side closer to the top. That's good if you are holding the phone in portrait mode as it's just more convenient for the cables to come out closer from the top so your fingers don't get in the way.

What's the problem? I just got the Droid X with a multimedia and car dock which have the connectors set for the X. This means they are not forward-compatible with the Bionic and require future additional accessory purchases.

Granted, this really isn't that different from anyone else out there as it's a better business model (to the manufacturers) to keep churning product and forcing accessory purchases every time a customer gets a new device.

BUT STILL! Come on. Couldn't they have maintained the Droid X locations for at least a year and not force us to buy new docks at least not right away?

Oh well....

You also have to take into account thickness and height both of which are different yeah it sucks you have to buy new accessories but unless they were going to package everything in the same chassis as the x you were going to have to do that anyway. Oh and I'm glad they changed the casing the x is just too tall

Every new phone Moto releases requires new accessories, except for the D1 and the D2. If you are worried about buying new accessories, return your DX and wait until April for the Bionic.

Hey - that's part of the fun of getting a new phone. You don't want your accessories
to wear out or fail when you need them. All you gotta do is change your outlook...
