Connected to office wifi but internet does not work

Hi everyone,

I started a new job 2 months back. It is quiet and I would like to listen to some online radio from my phone. I hit my data limit pretty quickly with my long days and it would be silly to do that if I have an available wifi I can use. There is an open linksys network with a very strong signal that I can connect to. No matter what I do I do not have internet. My coworker in the cube next to me connects but she has no idea how. Found my IP configuration through my computer which has an ethernet connection but nothing I put in has worked. I changed the DNS to the suggested 8.8.8.8 value I found on other forums. nothing. I connect fine anywhere else. Any ideas or suggestions?

Are you sure it's an internet connection, and not a wireless connection to a data server? My phone will connect to our servers at work, and I get the same result, a Wi-Fi connection, and no internet.
