It still must coexist with all the others. Freed android could be considered completely different from the android that phone companies are required to put on their phones to impress carriers. Root and unroot are very much different.

yeah I understand the differences between rooted and not rooted, I was just stating that CM is only a rom (granted probably the largest rom out there on many many devices) but it is still Android at the heart of it.
going by your logic on this, you should have Sense, Blur, and TouchWiz there as well b/c they are different from the base Android.
