Clock stopped working last night

I use my phone as an alarm clock and it's always gone off without a hitch.

I usually wake up at 4:30am (EST) in order to get to work and start up a few servers. However, this morning my wife woke me up at 5:30am saying I was late, I looked at my phone and my phone said 2:30.

So, I opened and closed some apps, went on the internet (even went to the "what time is it" website and it all said 5:30.

So I rebooted the phone and the clock returned to normal.

Anyone seen this before? Is this a sign of a defective unit?

This happened to me too over the weekend. My phone was showing time that was several hours ahead. Rebooted the phone and it went back to normal. My guess is that it was a tower glitch of some sort and really not the phone.

Are you using a task killer? If so, that's your culprit and you should uninstall it.

I don't use any task killer apps at all. I'm guessing it was a service outage. Makes me nervous.

Only thing I can think of, you can tell me if it matters or not, is that I recently did a *228...but did it from work which is about 30 miles from my home.

Should the phone update be done closer to home so that I'm 'tethered' to the proper towers?

It shouldn't matter where you do your 228. Do you restart your phone daily? Have you installed any new apps since you last used your alarm clock on your phone?

Good questions, first question should always be, "what's changed?"

I did install some free games and Evermore in one big market spree. So I guess I'll go back through those.

Another question that might help me figure this out: When you open your phone from the 'asleep' state and then unlock it to your desktop...does your clock (if you use the same, stock one I do) dies the clock display the correct time immediately, or is there a half second delay for it to catch up?
