I have had my phone in vibrate mode since I got it.... when you have sound enabled does it make audible clicks by default?

Clicks while typing? You can turn that off in your keyboard settings. Also, apps like tone picker allow you to control the volume of the clicking sound if you want to keep it on. But yes, vibrate does not change the clicking.
