Clearing emails's in Yahoo

I have had my droid since the end of November and since I can remember I have had this annoyance. When I read emails on my yahoo account and then delete them they don't always go away. Next email comes in and below it are the ones I had presumably deleted 5 mins earlier. So basically I just end up getting on desktop computer and deleting them that way. I have checked the settings through my yahoo and can not see anything to change there.

Any one else ever run into this and have a fix? It is definitely just a minor annoyance to put up with for such a sweet phone.

I encountered the same problem, so I switched to gmail permanently (always had an account, but didn't use it) It makes little inconveniences like that go away. I would recommend it. It took getting used to, but I'm fine with it now.

I just created a shortcut to the yahoo mobile email website and placed it beside the gmail icon, so now when I need to manage yahoo mail I just hit the link on the home screen and I'm there. Yahoo has a good mobile site, use it.

deleteing emails from aol also...

I am having the same problem. Everytime I delete mail, from send folder, sent folder, and trash folder, if i then hit "load more messages" they come back, from days ago.
I have been trying to delete these 2 mails for 2 days now, back and forth , I am cashing them. and if I go to my computer they are not even there!! HELP

Go to m.yahoo.com and sign in to your account and go to your e-mail, then bookmark that page. Then make a link to that bookmark on one of your home-screens. Its the easiest way to manage yahoo mail.

This is kind of in the same vein. I had that problem but Im going to try your suggestion and see how that works, but also I have another problem.

I sent a few EMails via the Droid using Yahoo and recently went to my account on my comp. I saw my Sent mail in the thousands and checked it out, it made no sense. Apparently sending an EMail via Yahoo synced with the Droid sends the same EMail at least ten times. I was wondering why no one responded, they probably thought it was spam. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know what do about it?

I've never had my Yahoo account synced via POP3 so I've never encountered that problem. I did, however do the Asian settings thing and tried the "Forwarding" option from Yahoo to Gmail, and the problems with that were, when you reply, the sending address is from Gmail (not really an issue for me) and Yahoo forwards the mail without keeping a copy. If I didn't need Yahoo's unlimited storage option that's how I would have left it.

this is how the default email client works and why i constantly recommend that everyone stop using that and allow for the gmail client to check your mail for you.

gmail pushes the mail, it's already always running and it's less strain on the network.

the more items you delete in your default email (any email) the more you download. i went through 8 years of emails on my hotmail account using the default email app. since moving to gmail, i've never looked back.

(see sig)

So I have tried to set up my gmail account so that it checks my yahoo emails. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but what it looks like to me is in order for that to work I need yahoo plus, which costs money. I really don't want to pay for my email.

there's a method that you can use where you change your local to asia, which will give you free POP3 access. it doesn't affect your email and you can keep your timezone.

Can Anyone direct me to the "changing locale to Asia" link? I have searched with no luck.
