Chronic keyboard crash

I have a droid Razr updated to current version. But I have this problem where my keyboard will crash everyday multiple times. It only does it when the virtual keyboard is booting up to input text for the first time. Then the keyboard area stays blank while the box on the top 'type to compose'. So it just sits there and does nothing unless I tap it to kind of 'provoke it' then it says it crashed and needs to be closed. Then after that I try to type something in again and it works. This happens so often and it is so darn annoying that I have to wait for it to kick back in. Is there any way to fix this at all? When it happens again I'll put in the exact wording. 'The application Multi-touch keyboard (process com.android.inputmetho.latin) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.' I've read other issues, but none this frequent. Thank you for your time.
