cheapdroids.com is a fraud?

Of course I'm not going to ask for cc info or anything. All I need is your order id. And if you aren't comfortable sending that just contact our support at 877-270-1067 or emails our support at cs@cheapdroids.com.

From what I'm reading here - these dissatisfied customers have already done that (contacted your support team) and got no satisfaction - which is why they are venting here stating exactly that...

I'd say you should be sending out mass mailings to all your customers advising them of any potential shipping delays or any other issues within 24 hours of them placing an order - customers deserve that courtesy at the least. And a follow up notice a few days later updating any info you may have. Delays do happen for whatever reasons, but unless you stay in constant contact and frequent updates to the customer - you will begin to get the negative exposure that is already resulting here on the forums. We can all understand that SxxT happens, but how you handle that and the open communication with the clients show the true caliber of your company.

I had this happen ordering some laser toner cartridges for my laser printer. I was told "in stock", placed the order, cc was charged, and I began to wait. Two weeks went by and I finally emailed them (no 800 number). Two days later received an email that the toner was "back ordered with no definite date of shipping". I canceled the order and waited another week before getting credited my payment. I emailed back again to find out when they would have it in (rough guess only) - and was told it was back in stock. I re-ordered. Same scenario happened all over again! Long story short - they will not see my business for sure! Wasted six weeks of my time.. :( mikey

We do notify the customer if something is placed on backorder.
 
Doesnt seem to me that their customer service is up to par. Usually businesses that use drop shipping or order small lots use those generalized terms like "We are swamped with orders" or "Sorry, its on backorder" etc etc etc... To us consumers they sound like lame excuses and poor business practices. Because they ARE.

I find this whole thread completely odd, was CheapDroids just trolling the forum at the time and found that post? Is the person actually a member here? Is there an update the OP would like to share? Did you get your items?

Anyway, sounds like buyers should beware.

Yes, I am a member here and post when I find people calling our store a scam when it is not. We do not drop ship either. We have a warehouse full of inventory that we all work out of. We have in house customer support as well from 8am-10pm EST M-F.

Did you even buy anything from us? If you have and actually had a problem, please PM me and I will take care of it personally.

Just because I do not post often doesn't mean I am trolling.

To anyone reading this.

The user Cheapdroids looks authentic.
Their IP is a TAMPA, FL Based Company using a
FIXED IP through "tampfl.fios.verizon.net"

Their Registration Email for this DF account is attached to the company that runs Cheapdroids.com

The phone number 877-270-1067 that was given also belongs to the Company that owns Cheapdroids.com

As for their business practices, I can't comment on them, as I have never done business with them.

I would tend to believe that this Person does work or manage Cheapdroids.com,
from the information I have been able to find.
He does look Legit !

So it's best to stop the name calling for now. You have a manager who seems to want to help all of you who have a gripe. Give them a chance to clear up the issues at hand.

If you have an order number at hand, give this person a chance to make good. See what they do, if they are able to help you. Report back here and let the rest of us know how it all went.

I have only been able to find one complaint doing a search on them. It is a recent one. Looks to be unresolved as of yet.

Usually if a company is as bad as the OP says, there would be more complaints online, easy to find.

This is only the information I can pass onto the membership at the moment.


Stop the flaming of them for now. Give them a Chance !!!!!!!!!
 
Thanks Jim, all of that is correct. Also, can you point out the one complain you found that was unresolved so I can make sure it gets taken care of please?
 
Okay - sounds like this guy is good to go! Nice to see this stuff taken care of and openly discussed here! Another kudos for the droidforums and their mods for how they have our back! And thank you cheapdroids for your assuring postings! :) mike
 
So everyone, they seem to be the real deal.

I want to thank the Manager of Cheapdroids.com for coming on DF to discuss it with us in a public forum.

I checked here and because Jr Droid took the time to address complaints I went ahead and ordered about 10 items from them. About 1/3 were backordered.
I'm OK with that. Called customer service to find out what the time frame was.
2 to 3 weeks was her best guess. I asked if they had charged my card for the whole thing or just the items shipped. CSR got very rude and said that all were charged as is standard practice in the industry. (you can fill in here) She did offer me a refund. I took it and was told 7 to 10 business days until the refund would be processed.

Great prices - Bad Business Practices. Buyer beware.
 
Back Ordered - ITEMS

There is some type of trend going on here. I went to there site looking for accessories for my HTC Incredible. At no point during my ordering did it say any or the stuff I ordered would be on back-order. Maybe they are legit, but in all my online ordering legit sites will tell you before you finalize the order if the parts are in stock or not. I had to log back on there site just see that my stuff was back ordered, I received no email stating this. :mad: I will let you guys know what happens. :icon_eek: Paypal said I must wait till May 3 before I can escalate a dispute.
 
I ordere a pouch for my Droid. It was in stock at the time of the order. It took over two weeks for me to get it. They never responded to my emails about the late order. They won't get another order from me... Buyer Beware....
 
I got my HTC Incredible on Monday...my fedex tracking said I would get it on the 28th :icon_ banana:. None of the stuff I ordered had a date like the link you sent me.
 
I'm glad this thread popped back up and I saw it. I was actually thinking about placing an order through this site, however now I think I would rather go somewhere else where I will receive my merchandise in a timely manner.
