The latest Google Now Launcher included with Android 5.0 Lollipop is pretty sweet. It includes the all new material design and lots of new smooth transitions. If flashy transitions aren't your thing no problem you can try out one of the hundreds of custom launchers like Nova or Apex. These launchers have hundreds of thousands of downloads because they add a bit of performance as well as plenty of customization settings. If you decide to use one of the many custom launcher available you might benefit from knowing how to manage these launchers.

-Download any one or more of these launchers from the Play Store
-Press the Home Button, choose your proffered launcher from the list provided, then choose either (just once or always if you want your choice to stick)
-If you need to change the launcher once you have chosen "Always" go to Settings/Home then choose from a launcher in the list
-You can also clear out the defaults so that you see the list again when hitting the home button, just go to Settings/Apps hit the menu button on the top right of the screen and then choose "reset app preferences"
