Changing SIM card

Because of the change in Verizon's global plans it looks like I will be changing SIM cards when (and while) I travel. The SIM card seems really hard to remove. Is there a trick I am missing or is a tool needed or I am I missing something obvious? I have changed SIM cards on other phones and haven't run into anything like this. Any suggestions much appreciated.

It's not easy, but I don't think you need a tool Just a matter of pushing on the exposed area and pulling on the edges, and eventually it comes out. Much harder than some other phones, but the Motorola Z6c made it very hard as well....
