Cases

J have had my maxx for a few months now with screen protectors only. Seems as if the phone is taking on some dings and scars..
So time for a protective case I figure. I just put on the otter box defender and i dont know.

It got big.
Definitely looks like it can take a bruising now.

I'm not a fan of the Otterbox Defenders myself. I could see the need for them if I was in a line of work that would endanger my phone, but since I'm not, it's way too much overkill for me.

My favorite case that I've used for the MAXX is the Diztronic TPU case. I usually hate TPU cases, but the matte finish doesn't make it feel like a TPU case at all (it's also available in a glossy version as well as in several other colors). It's incredibly slim, doesn't add hardly any bulk, and it provides more than adequate protection for bumps and dings. It also fits like a glove. I had one for my Galaxy Nexus, and now I'm using one on my MAXX. It's fantastic.

Ive had the otter box commuter for a few weeks now and love it. It has plastic on the outside and rubber on the inside where the defender has it the other way around. Solid construction, comes with screen protector if u want it. Best part is the flaps that cover the ports. I got this over the defender cause I figured it would slip in and out of my pocket better

Looking at the dis tonic case now I think that one would be better suited for somebody who does not need serious protection, like shock absorption

Same here I love the Commuter because it is not as hard core as the Defender. And it has the plastic so going in and out of the pocket is easy and does not get caught. Plus the extended Power and Volume up/down are a better use than the naked ones.

Seidio Surface case for me. I had the Otterbox commuter on for a few weeks and it was just too slippery. The hard plastic of the case didn't have any grip. The surface case is really slim and it has just the right amount of tackiness that it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out of my hands all the time. It doesn't have the port covers which I kind of liked with the Otterbox, but I'll survive.

Got a Hyperion case from Ebay for $9. Looks similar to the Diztronic one. Got 2 cases and so far, it's nice quality. Gloss up front and matte finish in back. Only knock so far is my case took a little extra effort in pressing power button on and off. But my wife's case is fine.

I got the same case for my Maxx with the Armorsuit and it works great, you can't beat the price.

I just got my Maxx today and put a defender on, its not as big as I thought it would be (thankfully).

Defender is too big and bulky. Not needed unless you work in a harsh environment. The Commuter is plenty strong and feels great in the hand.

I am looking at getting one of the seidio cases (active or surface) but am wary of the magnetic mechanism for the kick stand and it affecting the s pen. I know another case has a magnet and the pen won't write correctly. Has anyone had a problem with either of these cases?
