Case Recommendations

You do not need screen cover with the Droid line, I believe. You just need a good case. The glass is pretty scratchproof.

Friend of mine had OG droid now almost since launch, has told me that his phone has been in pocket with coins and other hard objects, and I can't see any sign of damage.

He convinced me to not waste any money on protectors :)

I don't agree at all with this one.... Get yourself a screen cover... keeps prints, and scratches off your phone.

Alright by far the best case is the seidio innocase Active, not to be confused with the regular innocase. It is super durable, has very nice rubber covers for volume and camera buttons and is just thin enough to fit in a car dock or Motorola home charging dock, not to mention its looks beautiful on the phone and adds minimal bulk. It is very easy to remove as well, doesn't scratch your phone in the process and the clips that hold the case on are very durable. Very pleased with this case after trying many others, and trust me I am very picky with what case I use

Ive got the seidio innocase active as well, the best part is that with a slight modification it fits the D2G with the extended battery door on.

How?

You have to make a cut out for the battery door on the soft rubber piece that goes inside the hard outer shell....

i wouldnt buy a new case and permanently mod it to use the ext battery door ....

all fitted cases will work with the bp7x if you dont use the door at all ....

i have a otterbox + bp7x and it works just fine without the door.

the verizon snap on gel case actually flexes enough to go on with the door

and lastly, in the event of a fluid spill, no door present lets you get to the battery to pull it much faster

Since i dont ever plan on not using my phone without the extended battery its not a problem for me. I tried the case without the battery door but dirt was finding its way into the battery compartment so that was the deal breaker
