Carriers want to do what in P?

I really don't look at signal strength anymore unless I am having issues. I am pretty sure there is a test out there that will check it for you, like you can on a computer.
 
Kinda sorta makes sense. If you have a bad signal your call will drop off or your download will be slow. Otherwise it'll work fine. I don't obsess over signal strength.... But I know people that do. My father in law "you only got to bars.... Get an extender...I can't call on two bars".
Calls his buddy.... "Call might drop...
I only got 2 bars"...... End of call, "Dang! Worked just fine! Do you have an extender?"
I've yet to figure out what an extender is
