i tried doing the long push or whatever but i don't get an option to delete, just to add to home or group. and i hate goddam blockbuster, they once sent me a collection notice for 6 dollars in late fees!

You have to root your phone to delete the pre-installed applications.

i'm using droid 3/verison/motorola
i'm guessing the OS is the droid version 2.3.4
i tried connecting my phone to my pc and putting it in 'pc mode' but i still can't figure out how to get the damn apps off

Then yes you will have to root the phone in order to remove it.

how safe is that? what do if i end up corrupting the os? is there a way to recover it?

Removing a stock app can stop future OTA updates (if that matters to you). Best to just rename it in case you need it back.

why do they make it so hard to take this **** off?
don't people complain about this?
also, what is OTA? what if i somehow need to get these crappy apps back or for whatever reason i corrupt the os, is there anyway to reinstall the os?

They make it difficult because it earns them money.
