can't get contacts back on phone after rom install

How come after iinstall a custom rom I am unable to get my contacts back on the phone? Tried verizon back up, titanium backup, and putting them on the sd card and nothing happens. Could someone help please.

What rom are you installing? What android version are you on?

I have tried a couple but right now i have installed.
CyanogenMod 7.1.0-rcd-droid2-kang
android 2.3.5
i will switch roms if you have you know of one that will allow me to sync or upload my contacts

You need to export your contacts when you're on default Ginger Bread. Then you can import them from where they save when you flash the new Rom.

If you have your contacts sync-d to ur gmail account, all you need to do is go to Setting > My Accounts > Add Account, and sign into gmail and it should bring all of your contacts back.

Also you can go into Contacts, menu button, then select export to SD card, and restore when you have the rom installed
