Cannot copy pix from message to Gallery

I received a pix from another phone via message. Ultimately I want email the pix. It seems like this should be a basic function: copy pix to gallery then attach to email. However, I have not figured out how to do this. There doesn't seem to be ANYTHING that you can do with the pix.

Open the text with the picture then press and hold just below the play button on the attatchment and it will give the option to save attachments to SD card... now its in ur gallery.. compose a new email then hit menu and attach the picture.. it takes a little getting use to but its pretty simple...
