Can I use my ATT S3 on a different network?

A friend wanted to buy my S3 (I have CM installed on it) but he only wanted to buy it if he was able to use it on a different network like tmobile or something. Is this possible? Do I need to do something? I am currently on ATT.

Not anymore. If you did it on Friday it would have been fine. New law just went into effect Saturday banning unlocking phones to work on a different network without both networks permission.

See if ATT will unlock it. That's the only legal way to do it now.
