can i use google plus to store pix privately?

i have been using picasa to store pics online so i wouldnt loose them like i have on my sd card.
but a friend of mine said he keeps his on google plus. but cant people see ur pics on google plus?
i need a place to store pics online privately esp from the girlfriend.
 
Dropbox is cloud storage. Don't think g+ has private albums.

If you have G+ on your phone, you can enable "instant uploads" and set it to upload your photos over wifi only, or wifi + cell data. The "instant uploads" album is private by default.

Same as Dropbox's "camera uploads" folder, but more tied into G+ obviously... All the cloud services are trying to maintain some sort of similar camera upload service now.
