Can I/How do I backup Contacts to an SD card?

I have a MAXX HD, OS 4.1.2 and I want to back to my Contacts to a 16GB SanDisk SD card.

People > Menu > Import/Export
I have a choice;
Export to storage
Export to SIM card

No SD card option.

Is this an impossible task with this phone?

Do you use Google as a contacts backup? If so, your contacts are easily accessed from a PC. Goto Google.com from the PC. Log in. You should be able to find the phone contacts. I don't recall the exact location. This a great way to add additional contact info using a full size keyboard.

Thanks jeep, but I want to know if I can put the Contacts onto the SD card. I am trying to keep all info on the phone.

Go to contacts, click the "..." Button, choose import/export and export to storage. This may back them up to the internal, if that's the case use a file explorer to move them to external. If it saves them to external automatically then you're good.

Great info, Cliff! And for the record, "Export to storage" stored my contacts on the "sdcard1" - which is the external sd card, by default! I verified the file location with a file explorer. :D

Export to Storage stores my Contacts to /mnt/sdcard.0000*.vcf. and that file shows up under Files > Device Storage. SD card is empty.
