Since my last software update the only option I get with camera on phone is to take a selfie or photo booth pic, anyone else had same problem that can help or will I need to wait for next update.

Welcome to the forum

I see 2 options to start. Go to the camera app in settings - apps - all and clear the cache, force stop and restart your phone. To rule out something hardware, try a different camera app from the Store.

Android 5.0.1 sense 6.0 carrier is Vodafone and phone is HTC one m8.

Interesting I have to do a little checking around.... I've not kept up on M8 as much since moved phones
