Camera works, but pictures won't save

Hello,

I'm having an ongoing issue w/ my Droid X camera. The camera functions fine and will take pictures, but when I go to the gallery to view them, it displays the thumbnail, but some of the pictures can't be viewed. I'll tap on the thumbnail and it will flash the picture for a moment, then switch to an icon or a corrupted image.

Plus, if I turn the phone off, the pictures won't be saved. They won't appear in the gallery or the SD card. The last pics I was able to take were on July 17th, 2010.

I've reformatted the SD card and taken the Manage Applications> Clear Data steps.

Android Version: 2.3.3
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-g34b306d

This bug sounds nasty. Have you tried clearing the system cache partition?

Other ideas:
-try a different camera, like Vignette
-try a different gallery, like QuickPic
