Camera not working in Fission 2.4.3

Hey all,

I have a Droid 2 Global running Fission 2.4.3 and everything was working great until recently when I noticed my camera wasn't working. When booting up the camera app, it will immediately crash out to the home screen. When I boot up an app like Vignette, it says "The camera hardware is not responding. The camera driver may have crashed, and may need to be rebooted."

I've tried rebooting the phone and still doesn't work. Any advice on how to fix this?

Thanks a lot for any help.

No ideas on fixing it, but I feel your pain. My camera works great, but not the camcorder. Force Closes every time I try to use it. Not that I use it often, but now I know the one time I do want to it isn't going to work for me. *sigh*

Yea, It does suck. I might SBF my phone to try and fix it. I don't like not having my camera working.

Anyone know if reflashing the rom might help?

try this,
start Fission Rom Manager
List
download and install
Multimedia Package - Moto - Droid 2 Global

It should fix it.

I was having Gallery, Camera, Camcorder trouble and that fixed it.

There is some combo of options/themes/addons that will disable your camera/camcorder. It just over writes files and makes them not install and it will cause FC's.

If you install just the Multimedia Package it should fix it.

@TwoBuells Yea, I tried that earlier and it didn't work unfortunately.

I actually just reflashed it again, but this time Wiped Cache+Data and that fixed the problem. Thanks to everyone that helped! dancedroid
