Camera causes force close in other apps

I first noticed this issue on my OG Droid running ANY Gingerbread ROM. Now it is happening on my Bionic running Gingerbread. So at this point I am not convinced that it is the Bionic but for anyone looking for info:

I use the USAA application to deposit my pay checks from work. The app will install fine and function until you use the Deposit@mobile feature. It will allow you to get all the way to the point you have to take a picture of the front of the check. It will snap the pic then force close the app.

As I said before I had this issue with my OG Droid that was running ANY GB Rom. I thought it was just because it was a ROM and I was rooted. At this point I am beginning to believe that it is an issue with the Gingerbread OS.

Anyone else have ideas?

I am getting the same issue on my new bionic with the depositmobile. It renders the app pretty much useless with the forceclose issue. I reported the force close so hopefully usaa fixes it.

any other ideas?

most likely not an OS issue but an app issue.
make sure to report it to the developers so they know their is a problem.
