Calendar cannot add event

I have a Droid Pro running 2.2 that is rooted and synced to my gmail account. When I add events on my computer they sync fine with my phone, but when I try to add an event on my phone, the add event screen comes up for a fraction of a second and then the phone leaves the calendar app and returns to my home screen. I have tried restarting my phone, clearing the calendar cache so that it is forced to resync my google calendar, nothing has any effect. I put a video of the behavior here:
